The College of Humanities and Sciences, Ajman University, has an opening for the position of Assistant/Associate/ Professor in Social Work, starting Fall semester 2022-2023.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

 

  1. PhD Degree directly related to the field of instruction specified (Social Work).
  2. Applicant should be a graduate of accredited universities, which use credit hours system.
  3. Teaching experience in higher education institutes.
  4. Excellent English language command as it is the medium of teaching.
  5. At least (3) years of experience in teaching in an academic institution applying the credit hour system.
  6. The applicant should have published papers in journals within the global databases (Scopus).
  7. The applicant is required to give evidence of his/her practical and academic experiences in the area of specialization.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Develop and deliver courses to students in specified discipline areas of study, considering and aiming to achieve the five (5) fundamental standards of the University, those are: Teaching, Research, Training, Expertise and Practice.
  2. Evaluate and monitor individual student progress and provide feedback to sustain student success.
  3. Research, organize and manage instructional resources, courses outlines, and community networks.
  4. Provide consultative expertise as a subject matter expert to the local institutions through pre-approved partnership projects by the University.
  5. Ensure a respectful and culturally sensitive learning environment in all college focused activities.
  6. Establish and maintain effective work relationships across the organization and community.
  7. Motivate and inspire confidence in others (students and colleagues) to overcome limitations to personal growth and success.
  8. Ensure required training equipment and supplies are set up in advance and materials are available.
  9. Actively seek out methods, procedures and resources to best achieve course and lesson objectives.
  10. Support and participate in accreditation initiatives.
  11. Maintain relationships with students that are conducive to learning.
  12. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

  4. Ability to create, compose and edit written materials.
  5. Program planning and implementation skills.
